Responsibilities

Responsibilities

I know that 2012 is going to be a very busy year for the Church in the UK.
But how can we see this happen, and what are our responsibilities as Christians and most important what are the responsibilities of the Church leadership to ensure this continues not only now but for the next generation?
As I have already written, we need to be praying and moving in unison under the anointing of the Holy Spirit in the Vision God as given us. We should be supporting one another in the Gifts God as given us to fulfill His purpose and plan for our lives and the Church.
The responsibilities of the Church leadership are to ensure that all members reach their full potential in Christ. To come along side them and support them in the purpose and plan God has for them even if it means that they move on later to continue or fulfill that purpose elsewhere. Everyone is important and God has a plan for each of them.
The leadership should ensure that people don’t stay the same, that there should be Spiritual growth in their lives, it is the leader’s responsibility to the Body and to God. If our leadership isn’t in revival how can the Church be in revival?  There are so many leaders that can preach a good sermon but see no growth both spiritually or in their numbers.  Are these leaders fulfilling God’s plan for their own lives and for the life of the church?  We can look at the Churches in South Korea for inspiration, churches of over 1,000,000 people.   How many turn up for the daily early morning prayer meeting?  The answer is over 3 sessions 97% of the congregation turn up, all praying in one accord in the purpose and plan they have for their church group.
Revival stems from our relationship with God not only individually but as a church. While I was at Roffey College (Kingdom Faith Ministry) I saw great things happen.   I saw the new Revival Centre open and I saw hundreds of people coming into the Church, this happened not because Colin Urquart was an international speaker and writer but because he and the leadership there were totally submitted to the will of God and each other.  Stepping out together in faith in the vision he had given them, they prayed daily, seeking Gods will for themselves but also for the church.
If we want Jesus to impact our nation, we need leaders with vision, full of the Holy Spirit working to ensure that individuals under their authority reaches their full potential in Jesus and to help each person to fulfill the purpose and plan God has for them.
